BAY EAST GOES GREEN

The Bay East Association of REALTORS® is incorporating Green principles into it’s day-to-day operations. Examples include:

  • Meeting and event materials are now provided in an electronic format. This practice saves literally hours of staff time that used to be spent making photocopies. It’ also saves money and reduces the need to use paper products.
  • “Virtual” Meetings: Many Bay East meetings and events are accessible via the “WebEx” system. Use of this system allows participation from remote location saving time and money for participants and reducing the emission of green house gasses through the reduction in vehicle miles traveled.
  • Used Battery Collection: Larnett Eckles, Technology and Training Manger, has organized a program for staff to deposit their used batteries for “Green” disposal.
  • DropBox System: Mark Flavin, Information Technology Director, uses “DropBox” to share documents that are typically printed on paper.
